Project Bloor

Project: Bloor – Mississauga | Balcony Restoration, Waterproofing & Building Envelope Rehabilitation

Corcon Construction was awarded a large-scale balcony restoration and concrete repair project in Mississauga, delivering a full rehabilitation of the building’s exterior balcony systems with a focus on structural integrity, long-term waterproofing performance, and modernized aesthetics.

This multi-level restoration project involved the complete structural rehabilitation of deteriorated concrete balcony slabs, addressing cracking, delamination, and edge deterioration commonly found in aging high-rise structures. Corcon executed detailed balcony concrete repairs and restoration, restoring load-bearing capacity while extending the service life of the building.

A high-performance thin-system waterproofing membrane was installed across all balcony surfaces, providing advanced protection against water infiltration, freeze-thaw cycles, and long-term environmental exposure. Interior balcony ceiling refinishing (soffit restoration) was also completed, enhancing both durability and visual appeal.

To complete the upgrade, Corcon installed new modern railing systems, bringing all balconies up to current building code standards while significantly improving the overall appearance and safety of the structure.

All work was performed using engineered swing stage access systems, allowing Corcon crews to efficiently complete restoration across all elevations of the building while maintaining strict compliance with safety regulations, quality control standards, and project scheduling requirements.
