Project Hamilton Balconies

Project: Hamilton Building Restoration | Balcony Replacement, Waterproofing & Structural Concrete Repair

Corcon Construction completed a complex building restoration and concrete repair project in Hamilton, Ontario, delivering a full-scale upgrade to a low-rise residential structure requiring extensive structural and envelope rehabilitation.

As a trusted concrete restoration contractor in Hamilton and the Greater Toronto Area, Corcon was retained to address failing balcony systems and deteriorated exterior components. Our scope included the complete removal and replacement of concrete balcony slabs, restoring structural integrity and extending the building’s service life.

All balconies were professionally waterproofed using high-performance membrane systems, ensuring long-term protection against water ingress, freeze-thaw damage, and structural deterioration. New caulking systems were installed throughout to provide a fully sealed building envelope and eliminate active leaks.

In addition to structural repairs, Corcon enhanced the building’s exterior with masonry staining, revitalizing aged stone surfaces while maintaining architectural consistency. We also installed modern glass railing systems, improving both safety and aesthetic appeal for residents.

This project required advanced engineering coordination due to site constraints. With no existing roof anchors, Corcon engineered and installed temporary roof anchor systems to safely deploy swing stages. Due to tight site conditions and active access to an underground parking garage, we also implemented full overhead protection systems, ensuring safe pedestrian and vehicle movement throughout construction.
