Project Hamilton Garage

Project: Hamilton Underground Parking Garage | Structural Rehabilitation & Full-Depth Concrete Reconstruction

Corcon Construction successfully delivered a major underground parking garage restoration project in Hamilton, involving high-risk structural rehabilitation and full-depth concrete reconstruction within an active, occupied residential building.

This project addressed severely deteriorated structural concrete, requiring immediate intervention to stabilize and restore critical load-bearing systems. Working in close coordination with structural engineers, Corcon executed a comprehensive structural stabilization program, designed to safely support the building while major reconstruction was underway.

Our scope included the installation of engineered shoring and temporary support systems, followed by the removal and replacement of reinforced concrete columns (supporting pillars), structural beams, and sections of the suspended slab system. These operations were carried out in a confined, operational environment, requiring precise sequencing, continuous monitoring, and strict adherence to safety and engineering protocols.

This was a high-risk, technically demanding project, where maintaining structural integrity during demolition and reconstruction was critical. Corcon performed partial slab replacements and full-depth concrete rebuilds, restoring the garage’s structural capacity and long-term performance.

In addition to major structural replacements, Corcon completed extensive concrete restoration and rehabilitation throughout the remaining structure, including repair of deteriorated areas, strengthening of compromised elements, and upgrades to improve durability and resistance to ongoing exposure.

The project required advanced coordination between trades, engineers, and building operations, ensuring minimal disruption while executing complex structural work under active occupancy.

Corcon continues to lead large-scale concrete restoration projects across Hamilton and the Greater Toronto Area, delivering engineered solutions for structurally compromised buildings and critical infrastructure.
